In a way, yes.
Sat in traffic this morning, and I reckon 75% of the bikes that passed me were scooters, so they're definitely relevant. But I can't see the point of making an 850cc scooter unless it does something special, like go very fast.
I kind of like the appeal of a seemingly ordinary step-thru that can wheelie for England, or one that can beat a fireblade away from the lights. Otherwise, what's the point?
