New fuel injection and EXUP valve for 2009 XJR

FOLLOWING HOT on the heels of the Japan-only Kawasaki ZRX1200 that was announced by the factory last week, this is the newly-revised 2009 Yamaha XJR1300.

Cosmetically there are only tweaks and different colour options (one of which is the solid black, which does look pretty trick), a new fuel injection system and an EXUP valve system to help the bike be cleaner burning.

Yellow-covered brake calipers mark out the model as the latest version too. Price is expected to be around £6,700 when it goes on sale in the UK next year.

10k!!! Seems a bit steep.  I would want Rossi to bring it to my house for that.

Yamaha are the worst for doing this.

Expect it to be discounted to £7k by the end of next year.

Huw
I'd rather buy the 08 one at Bill Smiths for 6.5k.

Looks just like the old one.

That can't be right. The new R1 is gonna be £9999. The older XJR's circa 2002 look better anyway and they're about £2500-ish.

Even at 6K thats alot of money for it, looks nice though and if Yam ever build a decent gearbox i'd consider one.

Looks boring.

ooo I'll buy two.

It's still the best retro. Especially if you buy an old one

hmmmm looks nice but it wont do anything my 53 reg Bandit 1200S that cost me £3k with less than 3000 miles on it can do AND my Bandit wont depreciate anything like that flashy thing will in the next 12 months.

well i have just gone and bought myself a brand new 2009 xjr 1300 sp got a great deal from the dealer 0% interested and a good px price for my varadero.

i dont care if people find it looking boring i love the naked look and pure muscle of the bike its my second xjr and i have had most types of bikes in the past from out right sports bike to tourers and anything inbetween you cant beat the look or ride of the xjr if you have never tried just ask for a demo ride i think youll change your mind so much better than a plastic fantastic.
