First Look: 2009 Honda Fury

Official pics of Honda's new 1300cc chopper

Quite a departure from Honda's norm, we'd say

YOU'RE LOOKING at the new Honda Fury, a chopper-style production bike due for an official unveiling at the New York International Motorcycle Show tomorrow Friday.

The Fury's quite a departure for Honda, courting the hi-dollar new-style chopper scene, which has gone from strength-to-strength over the last few years.

The Fury's powered by a 1312cc fuel-injected, liquid-cooled V-twin motor. A 200 section rear tyre and neatly hidden monoshock give the Fury a hard-tail look but without the back-breaking ride. At 1808.5mm, the Fury has the longest wheelbase of any production motorcycle.

good that the seat is low so it wont hurt so much when you come off the first time you attempt a corner

I bet having the longest wheelbase in the world will invalidate it in the US.  We hired a H-D each when on hols there, got lost down some minor country road and had to do a U turn.  Our conclusion was that the width of the US backroads is determined by the turning circle of a H-D, since on full lock it took the whole width of the road to do the turn.

So, you won't be able to do a u-turn on a back road in the US on this bike.  In the UK you will just have to continue to the next roundabout before you can turn round.  Or find an airport.
