F1 champ Vettel buys £60k chopper

120bhp chopper being built for Red Bull Racing driver

PERHAPS an example of more money than sense, current F1 champion Sebastien Vettel has forked out £60,000 for a custom-built cruiser to celebrate his 2010 F1 world title.

When word got around that Vettel had ordered the motorcycle, the F1 star remained tight-lipped about what he'd bought but former F1 driver Kimi Raikkonen let slip the exact bike Vettel had ordered.

Vettel has commissioned German builder Marcus Walz to customize the Avalanche (shown below), a chopper that is based around a 120bhp chassis, with a total arm-stretching length of 1780mm.

This isn't the first time that Walz has built a bike for the F1 paddock, he previously created the Ferrari inspired chopper for former champion Kimi Raikkonen. The custom motorcycle will be presented to Red Bull Racing driver during the Italian Grand Prix in September.
