A DRAG RACER from Santa Rosa, California made history at Infineon Raceway on Wednesday night when his electrically-powered drag bike claimed victory.

Mike Swallow's win marked the first win for an electric-powered machine in the 20 years of Wednesday Night Drag racing.

Swallow was testing his battery-powered dragbike down the Sonoma Valley drag strip for the victory: "I get to come out to races because I'm the lightest guy in the team, so it was great to get a win," said Swallow, 28, who has competed in both Wednesday Night Drag events so far this year.

"I went up to the press box after the race and the guy told me I'm a part of history at the track."

Winner: Michael Swallow (Santa Rosa) 11.561 (11.40) 107.96

Might not be the same race but found this out.

NEDRA News, March 7 - Thunderstruck Motors just broke a NEDRA record with their motorcycle, Tron, piloted by Michael Swallow and sponsored by LTC. The 93-volt bike powered by Lithium batteries ran a 11.693 at 104.53 mph in the quarter mile at Infineon Raceway March 5. Brian Hall, the builder of the bike says he can't wait to get back on the track to go for even more records.
