DUCATI USA is recalling 3,614 1098s over fear of a faulty rear drive sprocket.

The importers wish to trace: 2007-2008 1098, 1098S, and 1098 Tricolore motorcycles over a fear that the rear drive sprocket could fail.

According to some reports stateside: '...if the sprocket were to fail while the motorcycle is being driven, it is possible that the motorcycle will experience a sudden loss of power and/or the chain may become entangled with the chassis.'

Ducati dealers will replace the rear drive sprocket free of charge.

On the 'Busa:

Hazard: Intermittent or a complete loss of electrical power could result in a loss of lighting and/or stalling of the engine, increasing the risk of a crash.

What's happened to BMW ?  They seem to be rushing out new model's before they have  given enough test time to iron out any glitches.I almost traded my 1150 in for the first 1200GS ,but  then wiring and drive shaft's started giving problem's and I figured I would wait a few years untill they have sorted out all the nasty little gremlins.
