"Hello, is that Ocean Finance?"
I’m currently in Jerez in Spain preparing to ride Ducati’s new 1098R.
The technical presentation hasn’t happened yet so all I know new so far is what the guys from Ducati Corse (the Superbike racing lot) has said about the bike.
Apparently it is the closest road bike to the WSB racer so far. Because the rules are a lot tighter in WSB to allow 1200cc twins to race against the 1000cc fours Ducati is only allowed to change the gearbox, pistons and cams on the race bike’s engine compared to the road bike. So, with a capacity of 1198cc it should be a bit of an animal, hopefully the traction control (proper traction control with wheel sensors derived from the MotoGP team’s system) should help tame it a bit!
Keep checking Visordown, I’ll post more pics and a video later.
