Bike shop customer wins a Desmosedici RR

JAPAN does bike shops better than anywhere else in the world – massive superstores selling droolworthy bikes and kit that you won't see for sale anywhere else.

It turns out they do promotions better than most, too – as shown by this custom Ducati Desmosedici RR, which has just been given away to a customer of the massive Yellow Corn shop.

Yellow Corn is both a shop and a brand, focussing on riding kit. Its Japan-only leather jackets are the stuff of legend, in part thanks to the rather unusual use of English on some of them. Like the Hamsteak jacket (see below), which has the slogan “Ham Steak. Bumfucked Hillbilly Backwoods Gear by Yellow Corn” emblazoned on the back. Really.

Over Christmas and the New Year Yellow Corn has been running a lottery, with prizes ranging from jackets and bike covers to the Desmosedici RR, number 254 of the 1500 built and with just 1546km on the clock.

The winners were announced via Twitter at the weekend, with the Desmo going to ticket number 1007.
