Man, 27, disqualified after eighth mobile phone offence
A MOTORIST WHO racked up 54 points on his licence has finally been disqualified from driving only after a local newspaper submitted a freedom of information request to the DVLA, it has been revealed.The 27 year-old unidentified driver, from Stockton-on-Tees, near Middlesbrough, committed his first driving offence three years ago when he was convicted of using a mobile phone. It has now been revealed the same man was convicted on a further SIX occasions for the same offence over the following four months.The man was also found guilty of failing to tell police who was driving his vehicle at the time of two of the offences, reports the Daily Mail.The same driver was convicted for using a mobile at the wheel for an EIGHTH time in April this year. He has now been banned from driving. In 2009, figures from the DVLA say 31,100 drivers who reached 12 points did lose their licences, while 11,226 did not.
