Six years on and two new arms

A MAN who has made medical history by having the world's first double arm transplant says he can't wait to get back on his motorcycle and ride again.

Dairy farmer Karl Merk, 54, lost his arms after an accident with a corn threshing machine six years ago. His new arms came from the body of a teenager who was killed in a car crash.

Merk said: "Every day I am getting more mobility in my new arms. I am very much looking forward to being able to dress myself and ride my motorcycle again."

It took 40 experts to carry out the incredible work on the German farmer.

Remember the french guy who had a double arm transplant (below the elbows). He could not deal with having someone elses hands. He had them removed after about 2 years.
