Donington Park goes into administration

East Midlands circuit in dire straits after failing to secure F1 bid

DONINGTON PARK has gone into administration, following crisis talks with the staff earlier today.

Management at the troubled circuit called the meeting to inform their staff about the financial situation at the East Midlands track.

A circuit spokeswoman said the staff were being told about the future finances of Donington Ventures Leisure Ltd, who are behind the former MotoGP circuit.

The circuit's chief executive, Simon Gillett recently lost a 17-year contract to host the Formula 1 British Grand Prix from 2010, after failing to raise the funds required to bring the venue in line with F1 guidelines.
