A teenage motorcyclist whose was found guilty of causing the deaths of five people in a road accident given just 6 years

A TEENAGE motorcyclist whose was found guilty of causing the deaths of five
people in a road accident was jailed for six and a half years yesterday.

Joshua Knights,18, of Chesterfield Road, Bolsover, admitted five counts of
causing death by dangerous driving at Derby Crown Court. He was also banned
from driving for 10 years.

Knights stood accused of being in a race on public roads with a Ford Sierra
driven by Kenny Jones, 25, moments before it struck an oncoming Renault.
Judge John Wait told Knights: "Your race took the lives of five people, four
of them innocent. The consequences for those who survived have been
devastating."
According to police reports, the Sierra had hit speeds in excess of 100mph
during the race before it took off over a railway bridge and hit the other car
coming in the opposite direction.
