Cumbrian police search for £15k Harley

Rare vintage Harley pinched while owner spectated at hill climb event

POLICE IN Cumbria are investigating the theft of a 1949 Vintage Harley Davidson Motorcycle Model U valued at £15,000.

The motorcycle was stolen during the Barbon Hill Climb, which took place at Barbon Low Fells, Hoggs Hill, Barbon near Sedbergh in Cumbria on Saturday 17th of July 2010.

The motorcycle was taken some time between 12:30pm and 4pm while the owner watched the racing. It was parked securely with a large chain and padlock close to the portable toilets that were set up for the event.

Anybody who witnessed any suspicious activity during the Barbon Hill Climb, or anyone who knows the whereabouts of this treasured motorcycle, should contact PC Claire Slater at Milnthorpe Police Station in Cumbria on 0845 33 00 247, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Surely, whoever pinched that would know what it was, its not city central so its unlikely to be oppotunist.

i wouldnt be suprised if the poor owner if he hever gets it back finds out he knows the scumbag!
