CHRIS WALKER is launching his own track riding school that will have the look and feel of a race day.

The race school experience will be based at the Mallory Park circuit in Leicestershire and from Walker's long-standing association with Kawasaki, including his memorable Assen WSB race win, the school will use ZX-6Rs and ZX-10Rs.

Guests will be treated like racers from start to finish; grid girls will meet them at the start of the day, followed by a briefing and overview. On the track, the day will feature warm up and free practice sessions, ending with a timed Superpole.

The tuition will cover braking, accelerating, lines, gears and rider positioning, all the expert guidance will come from Walker and other top BSB racers working directly with the riders on and off the track. This will all culminate in the Superpole, allowing the riders to exploit the lessons learnt in an attempt to set their fastest time.

The competition element is topped off in true racer style at the end of the day with a podium celebration featuring awards and champagne.

Visordown spoke with Chris Walker this morning, fresh from riding his mx bike he said: "I've been thinking about doing this for five years but my racing has always taken up all my time. Now, things have come together.

"I wanted the school to feel like a race day and chose Mallory Park because it is a small circuit which means riders can get more laps in and learn the corners better and be able to push harder which will allow them to get more out of their day."

Walker will fit the school around his racing as the popular rider will continue riding in the 2012 British Superbike championship, riding a Kawasaki ZX-10R subject to the team making the cut.

The school will cost £300 and will be launched at Motorcycle Live next week. You can visit the website at: www.chriswalkerraceschool.com
