NORTH WALES Chief Constable Richard Brunstrom has U-turned about when he is going to retire.
The policeman, known as the Mad Mullah of the Traffic Taliban, said that he may step down next Christmas earlier this month. Brunstrom said he would retire and go sailing with his wife when his contract runs out in December 2009.
But now the famously-outrageous copper said during an interview this week that he is going nowhere.
As visordown reported, the original comments were made during a radio interview for BBC Wales, then Brunstrom said: “I have a contract that goes to Christmas next year and I suspect by that time I will simply retire and disappear and you will not find me re-emerging as an aspiring politician or indeed in any other field. My wife and I intend to retire, sell up, buy a boat and go sailing, while we are still fit and young enough to do so.”
But now he's said this: “I’m not retiring, I’m not doing a Tony Blair. If anyone has told you I’m retiring they are mistaken.
“Reports of my demise are sadly exaggerated. It is not happening. I’ve got work to do. I will retire one day – I will die one day – but not any time soon.”
Yesterday North Wales Police confirmed the force’s top cop had not given a retirement date.
A North Wales Police spokesman said: “The chief constable has not announced his retirement or given a date on which he intends to do so.”
Boooooooooooo! Get gone you loon.
