Brunstrom: It's not 'Police' it's 'Heddlu'

What a pity that Boris Johnson can't sack this prat.

Perhaps he can persuade the "Prince of Wales" to do it for us. Brunston has totally forgotten that HE is the public servant, NOT  the other way round.

I regularly travel the A5 & A55 through North Wales and Anglesey, main trunk routes for hundreds of truckers and tourists on their way to Ireland. How many of the Europeans or even Brits' on visits to Wales won't have a clue what "Heddlu" means.

The ambulance has 'ambwillans' on the front but if you see it coming behind you I doubt you'd read the bonnet and wonder what it was, and wherever to move over if the blues and twos were going.

Frankly it makes bugger all difference what text is on the Police car, we all know what it is.

This is just Brunstrom's little campaign for local identity and a bit of publicity.  

There should be more use of local terms to better establish local identities.  In norf kent they could replace the POLICE with FEDS.

To be fair to the 'mad mullah' everything he says or does is taken out of context by the media. he is really echoing what a lot of people, English or welsh speaking think here.

My Dad a staunch welsh nationalist, gets official letters in welsh and English, he disregards the welsh one and reads the english.

It would be better to have place names and signage in one language and as Welsh is the language of wales, then welsh it should be.

As Huw illustrated above it works fine in Irish - why wouldn't we have our police force have our own language on their cars? 

I'm assuming this Brunstrom chap has made previous statements that are way worse than this one?

The Welsh hate us Saxons so much they want a seperate nation, I say give it to them and take away any funding that comes from the English tax payer and put immigration on the borders and refuse entry, I know not all Welsh are like this, but from personal experience I really am beginning to think the Welsh are nothing but pricks, makes me laugh how they are proud of being Welsh, why?.

I always used to wonder why some people used to dislike the Welsh after they had gone there, until my father bought a house and moved there.

Not all Welsh people are of course racist but SOME and sadly a fair few not only HATE the English but have even suggest killing every last English man women and child in his presence, if this isnt racial hate I dont know what is.

Much easier to point it out as racism than address the points I made from experience about the racism from the Welsh towards the English.

BTW I dont blame the Welsh for burning houses of the rich nobbers who bought holiday homes for rent and use, they pushed up the house prices up to unrealistic prices and the locals couldnt afford to buy, we have the same problem here.

im english and live in wales, the welsh are great but it seems the patriotic welsh tend to be dole grabbing lazy wankers which is a shame cos that 1 in a 100 tend to give wales a bad reputation which isnt deserved. people from north wales arent much different from the english and people from south wales are usually fucking hilarious.
