ANDREW Cook, from Stoke-on-Trent picked up his brand new 2013 BMW R1200GS after winning it in BMW's Motorcycle Live competition.
The competition ran from October 2012 to February 2013 and could be entered at BMW dealers, online or at Motorcycle Live.
Mr Cook, 47, said: “I am absolutely over the moon. My last motorcycle was a 2002 GS Adventure which I sold at the end of last year to pay for some work to be done on our house. I was looking to buy another used BMW, but then I got a phone call to say I’d won the competition. Frankly, I still can’t quite believe it, and I won’t until I’ve ridden it home!
“I’ve been a motorcyclist since I was 17 years old and the GS range has stolen my heart. I’ve decided that I’m going to fulfil a lifelong biking ambition and ride my new BMW up the Stelvio Pass in Italy, via the Alps and the French Riviera. All that’s left for me to say is thank you to BMW Motorrad and Motorcycle Live for running the competition, and to the guys here at Benham for making me fill in a form, even after I insisted that ‘I never win anything’, thanks!"
