BMW reveal new paint scheme for S1000 RR road bike

Subtle colours for BM's new supersports machine

Like it? We do

CHECK OUT this lovely paintjob which is being touted as a possible final version of the BMW S1000RR.

We all know the specs of the bike by now, God knows the hype surrounding it has been huge, but the colours and road-bits like indicators, mirrors and the rest look tops on the 183kg, 175bhp missile.

We like. We want. We must have!

Oh, alright dear - I'd forgotten we're building an annex flat for your lovely mother.

Saw it in fast bikes mag, well, the race version, that looks absolutely lovely, price will be around 14000, apparently

It's just a rebadged silver CBR

What a joke.

In Germany I believe that the S1000RR is going to be just over 15K euros, whereas the R1 is about 16K. The importers seem to be swallowing a lot of the cost of the weak pound right now, so I'd guess somewhere around the 10K pounds mark.

I quite like the bike, but have more of a hankering after the HP2 Sport.

falcorob

Looks quite classy in the Silver and Black but still not a must have for me.

The new RSV4 takes that particular honour.

i am underwhelmed

BORING but probably brilliant at the same time

agree with rob, RSV4 oh yeah

Very nice... cover the BM badge and paint it green.... it looks a lot like a kwaka...

Doesn't look so special without the 'race' paint.

A silver sports bike in 2009...WTF

Give me blue/white/red or even luftwaffe camo.

£10K would be realistic...not a penny more!

I agree. Best road bike ive ever ridden.

S1000R will be just another silly fast 4 cylinder, which wont be special enough on roads. IMO.

Timbo,

I really rate the HP2 Sport too - Having recently dem'od one myself.

It is beautifully made and has superb handling.

The S1000R is chasing glory on the track and the HP2 is simply not powerful enough to be competitive and too eccentric to win-over buyers of Japanese litre sports bikes.

Time will tell if it succeeds on either count eh!

Another bike ill add to my list of things to buy, as soon as i win the loto. ha ha. Serryisly i think if it runs & handles as good it looks BMW have a winner.

I'm with Timbo and V-Fun on this one. The HP2 is rather eccentric and only something that BMW would build, whereas the S1000RR is much more generic.

I've got a bit of a thing about the HP2 Sport, but my head says that a R1200S offers 95% of that bike for 50% of the cash, and it can carry luggage.

BMW are apparently doing a blue / white / red paintjob, but the others are silver and Kwaka green. At least, according to the blurb that I've read.
