Biker’s killer gets 35 years to life

US court dishes out 'proper' sentence to convicted killer

FINALLY IT seems as though the life of a biker means something – with the news that a 49-year old man from San Jose in the States has been sentenced to 35 years inside for his part in a crash that killed a young motorcyclist.

Mark Henderson was found guilty of carrying out second-degree murder in November after it emerged he crashed his pick-up truck into a motorcycle driven by 19-year-old Rebecca Seibenmorgen in 2005.

Judge Joseph Scott denied defence attorney John Halley's plea to strike a previous conviction Henderson had for a 1983 assault with a deadly weapon. By counting the 2005 crash as Henderson's second strike, the statutory jail term was doubled from 15 to 30 years to life. An additional five-year consecutive sentence was added on for multiple felonies that cause bodily harm to others, according to Deputy District Attorney Sean Gallagher.

That is a good result for a nasty piece of work who obviously totally disregarded the safety of other road users.........for it to be a murder charge he must have known the consequences of his actions and killed a young motorcyclist............................I somehow can't imagine this sort of justice happening in the UK..........

was a second strike, as per the artical, somthing our own judicial system should "look at", makes people think twice, though not in this case, still, very sad for a 19 year olds life to be taken in such a needless way.

This is why America rules, while we welcome in terrorists and pay them £20,000 a year in benefits to make the bombs they are going to use to blow us up.  We can learn alot from America.
