NORTH YORKSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses after two bikers were left needing hospital treatment after being attacked at a motorcycle rally near Scarborough.

Police say the male victims, aged 49 and 41, were attacked with a hammer in what's believed to be a gang-related assault in the early hours of Saturday 21st August.

North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "This was a vicious assault which could have had far more serious consequences."

The attacks happened at the Ganton Gathering at Ganton Wold Farm.

Both men were taken to Scarborough Hospital with head injuries.

The rally was organised by Scarborough Motorcycle Action Group (MAG).
