Biker jailed after 150mph Police chase

Court slams speeding biker after he sped from Police in high speed chase

by Visordown News

A 150MPH Police chase which continued across two counties has resulted in a biker being jailed for 12 months.

Camera footage taken from a police helicopter showed 44-year-old Cameron Stalker undertaking motorists, weaving in and out of traffic and reaching speeds of between 100 and 120mph through built-up areas. Stalker later sped away from police who were chasing at 150mph.

Prosecutor John Brennan told the court: "He was moving from lane to lane at speeds of between 100 and 120mph. When police were following him while he was travelling south he was accelerating away when they were travelling at 150mph."

Despite pleas from the defence, Stalker was sentenced to 12 months behind bars and banned him from the roads for two years.

The judge said: "It is remarkable that you did not kill yourself but it is also remarkable you did not kill someone else at the same time. Putting members of the public at risk as you did means there must be some sort of a deterrent sentence, not just to punish you but to remind others if they use the roads in this fashion they will be dealt with by the courts severely."

what 12 months in jail for not causing a single scratch to anyone

12 months in jail when he didnt mug, steal, burgal anything, when these crimes for first timers get a slap on the wrists

he did wrong but it boils my piss when the authorities, place a stiffer sentence on a speeder than a REAL criminal

Actually, I'm going to condemn the police on this case. With a helicopter watching him, why would the police need to do 150mph to chase this guy, further endangering the public. If he wasn't wearing a helmet and stolen the bike they wouldn't ever bother, I fail to see the logic in this. Had they pulled back the biker would have slowed, thinking he had got away, as it's bloody hard to see a helicopter on a bike! I'm not saying he shouldn't be jailed for what he did, but the logic has gone out the window

In a way, you're correct, but 100-120mph in a built up area, the possibilities of killing someone is huge. To be fair to this comment, I've seen people get away with far less for actually killing someone by dangerous driving.

He didn't "scratch anyone", but the fact is he could very easily have killed someone else and he obviously didn't give a toss if he did. Last time I checked manslaughter was a criminal offence.

Also, this prat tars us all with his brainless lunacy, when the "authorities" are already talking about spies in the sky and speed limiters on all vehicles, wankers like this just give them the excuse they need and hasten it for all of us! Perhaps when that happens "it will boil your piss"! Enjoy.

And no, they didn't record his speed, so they can't assume how fast he was going.

Bit more to it than that though.

Newcastle Crown Court heard how the married dad, who has failed his motorcycle driving test three times, was first spotted on May 26 last year on the A1 at Washington Services on his Yahama road bike.

Obviously an expert rider

Failing your motorcycle test means nothing, I failed the first time for putting my foot down on a u-turn, but then again I did a direct access course, 5 day jobbie, not the best way to learn I agree, as it's hard to adjust going from a mountain bike to a 150kg bike

It means he would have no insurance and unlikely to have the bike registered to him either, so much more difficult to track down.

As Loon says..it means that he has no licence, no insurance and has been unable to demonstrate even the bare basics of machine control sufficient to be allowed on the road..it also demonstrates that he has no respect for the law of the land and no doubt was partly why the judge decided to give him something he wont forget....

What bollocks..

If they didn't keep him in view until the helicopter arrived how would the helicopter be expected to find him

as for he would have slowed if they backed off...well it appears that they did.. and he didn't ( much like the majority of people prepared to run from the police as a lot of research and experience has shown..) but other than that its a spot on rant..blame the police not the moronic criminal

The facts are short on the initial report. I was going by that report. Hence my comments, again, he's being classified as biker, I only classify someone as a biker if they have a full A licence.

I also have to say, the police doing 150mph, isn't this considered endangering the 'bikers' life, the same reason as if he wasn't wearing a helmet? Personally I'm fed up with these guidelines to be honest, if you steal a bike with no helmet, thats your own risk. I say get rid of the human rights for criminals, then that wouldn't happen!

this has lots of similarities to that young lad that got done a couple of months ago for 140 plus...they followed him on an unmarked bike for 45 minutes or something.

After the revelation that the police are getting paid handsomely for these videos that are shown on those wanky cop shows...you know..."police camera action" type of shite. It makes you wonder if they are actually letting the pursuit go on so they get more on video!!

nothing would susprise me about the police these days........

That would be a shocker if it was left 45 minutes before they pull them. It would be so obvious they don't care about public safety, rather than court justice!

espesially when no one actually got hurt, it begs beleif, what good is jailing him going to do

a huge fine 3 year driving ban and 500 hours serving the community would be a better solution, doing old folks gardens, cleaning city centres etc, but a room and 3 meals a day, and out on licence in 3 months with good behaviour

its a joke

Excellent, I think anyone who speeds even 1 mph over the speed limit should be banned for life.

Although, it's a free country, so why the hell should we obey speed limits - stick it to the man, biker dude.

Again, I can only agree, what the fk does jail do for anyone? My mate, drug dealer, got 6 years for second offence dealing, noone suffered, death or otherwise. First time he came out of jail for 18 months he told me 'it's not hard' plus he had resources unclaimed by police that allowed him to buy a brand new X5, and fk knows how many drugs....

The point of jail isn't just punishment, but also keeping these idiots out of a society constantly damaged by too many of them. However, community service would be better, especially dressed in pink with "I am a stupid wanker" emblazoned across the back of their overalls.

Going all out through built-up areas is a gamble but the unfortunate thing is that when one of these "people" goes back to his simian roots, he may well take you, your child or your elderly mother before he does us all a favour and wraps himself around a solid, unyielding object.

Tripletriumph's original observation was really all that needed to be said - if we even pretend to be an intelligent species.

I love the hypocricy in this place. People who say he got what he deserved and happy that he has been jailed...and then they will be out on their bikes today exceeding limits all over the place.

Like those big mouthed arrogant tossers of traffic police who love being on TV. Lecturing people for catching solid white lines in an overtake or pulling back in after overtaking, or being 5mph over the limit...and then they knock off their shift and drive home exactly how everyone else drives.

Lets be honest...who really sits on the motorway at 70??? fucking no one...so you lot who say he deserves jail all stick within the limits all the time do you?? fuck off and get a life before you judge others.

Another bullshit sentencing. Jail for speeding? If I'm going down for speeding, next time I'll make it worth my while and launch my bike into a fucking playground.

/Waits for the same old toss that he was jailed for dangerous driving. Get a fucking life or a new excuse.

No kittens harmed, shouldn't jail be used for real criminals that go round shooting Brazilians in the head?

I couldn't agree more. This system has been proven time and time again to be inconsistant to say the least! A slap on the wrist for violence etc and prison for speeding when there is no victim. To say that he "might" have done something is a joke, as everytime anyone gets behind the wheel of their car they "might" run into someone yet do we ban all cars/drivers because of a "thought crime" do we? of course not. Imbecile coppers like Gedge and WantanRSVR dont help at all, they just give the authoritarian police even more of a bad reputation and even less public support. Why must everything be a potential crime? Why can't common sense prevail instead of draconian laws/rules that simply dont help(just like a speed cam outside a school won't stop a child being killed but a chicane will- but with the chicane the State wont get fine money and the motorist wont suffer imensely) This country is going down the pan as ever more punishment of the masses for a handful of crimes of the few takes preference to actually dealing with the problem. We need a paradigm shift with regard to authority in the UK to get rid of these idiots and there stupid laws/enforcement procedures.

Corporatism is rife and I'm sure there are plenty of elites who make plenty of money supplying prisons, court services, police supplies etc etc....

Just to add: of course the bloke was an idiot but 12 months prison for speeding? give me a break!
