A 71-year old biker has died after going to help his friend who had just crashed.

Kenneth Jarrett, 71, from Hailsham and his 62-year old friend were both riding their motorcycles when the pair rounded a corner only to be faced with a stationary cement mixer. Mr Jarrett managed to stop but his friend slid off his motorcycle while trying to avoid the vehicle.

Mr Jarrett went to go and help his friend but he collapsed and died at the scene. The 62-year old man was taken to hospital and later discharged.

Any witnesses are asked to contact police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Kingsnorth.

Let's hope the operator/driver of the cement mixer who parked in a stupid place get's done accordingly in court, i'm guessing he won't as it was only a motorcyclist who died.
