Biker clocks up 1 million mile road-trip
That's a lot of tyres, chains and petrol stops..

ONE MILLION miles is the figure being touted by American rider John Hermann who has been making twice-yearly trips to the European Alps since 1975.
That amazing figure breaks down to 1,000 miles per week, every week for 20 years. That's dedication!
For the first five years, Hermann kept his US-registered bike in Germany but after his BMW K75 gave up the ghost in Switzerland, he signed for his first Euro rental. After putting over 3,000 miles on that bike, he never brought his bike back over from the States again.
Hermann estimates that he has ridden the Alps 60 times but has recently fallen in love with Corsica. Another 1 million miles to be had in the next 20 years? We hope so! Good luck John.
