Police are appealing for witnesses to both the accident and removal of the bike

A CRASHED bike was taken from the scene of an accident last night in Stourport, Worcestershire, as its injured rider lay dying nearby. His helmet was also taken.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to both the accident and the removal of the bike, described only as being black-and-red.

The rider, who has not been named but is described as in his 20s, died at the scene of the accident, which happened at 6.38pm outside the Brinton Arms pub on Bewdley Road. His bike had been removed before police arrived.

PC Gary Otun of West Mercia Police said: "A young man has tragically lost his life and our thoughts are currently with his family. For the purposes of investigating this incident it is vital that we find the motorcycle and those who took it away. The rider's helmet was also taken from the roadside but we recovered that nearby.

"Within minutes of this incident there were a lot of people on the scene including people who had been inside the pub. I would urge them to come forward if they saw the bike being removed or anything else that could help our inquiries.

"It is important that we establish why and how this happened and I would also appeal to anyone who saw the collision or the bike being ridden there beforehand to get in touch with us. The smallest detail could be of value to us."

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact PC Otun in the Force Operational Support Team (FOST) at Rubery Police Station by calling the non-emergency number 101 and quoting the incident reference 600-S-150812.

This is the 2nd story i've read where a bike is stolen as the rider lay injured in the road. These people are lower than animals...

Posted: 16/08/2012 at 15:15

Lower than a snakes belly!

Simply incredible...

How f'd up does one person have to be to take a dieing man's bike and helmet while he lays there and assumes room temperature ... Ya know.. some people just need killin'..

I think 'what the fuck?' pretty much is all that needs to be said. Beyond words and utterly disgusting.

Posted: 17/08/2012 at 03:54

Un-fucking-believable...how sad.

The only positive that can be taken from this, and small it may be, is that this is news worthy.

There are parts of the world where armed robbery doesn't even make the news, where rape is part of every day life, and where children are worked like slaves.

We should be grateful that our country is civilised enough that this kind of thing is so abhorrent.

All of that being said, I hope the authorities don't find the thief, and that a large man with a penchant for providing extreme pain finds him first.

this is disgusting, how can that person sleep at night.

not only have they stolen a bike, but deprived the police from finding out if there was foul play AND his family wont know what happened

I really dispair for the human race if this is what we are degenerating into...

C Lacey - what a pile of shite you wrote above. It is so abhorrent; you have a penchant for being a twat.

Maybe his mates wheeled the bike away before the insurance company could examine it for undeclared modifications. Those cunts will stop at nothing to avoid paying a claim.

Posted: 17/08/2012 at 16:19

Me Jarse, I don't think you read it properly..

I was insinuating that this is an awful thing to happen, and that the fact it is newsworthy is a good thing, as in our world could be even more shit.

The second statement was that the police will not give the justice that the man who was killed deserved, which is that they tie him to a car and pull him behind it until he has reflected on how evil he was.

Instead you chose to miss those points and engage in personal insults. Good work, nice to know that the gene pool still doesn't have lifeguards in your area.

I hope that members of the motorcycling community find the person who stole the bike and then torture and kill them.

If they removed the helmet from the rider before he died, they could have caused his death.

WTF... I hope these bastard's get caught and some public justice given out before the police get them, as in our soft country they will probably only get a fine....

Posted: 19/08/2012 at 12:48

Time for street justice

Spoon their eyeballs out with chopsticks

Posted: 20/08/2012 at 08:11

They don't sleep they are out all night nicking bikes like mine, frikin pikey scum.

Posted: 21/08/2012 at 18:36

No one seems to have considered that the dead bloke might have already nicked the bike and his mates took off with it to stop the cops finding out, not thinking he was going to die. After all, if it was HIS bike, then surely the make, model, colour and registration number would have been published by now to assist in the search for it? My local paper has been reporting on this one and all thats come out is that the bike is red. Things aren't always as they first seem...........

I was thinking the same as Fred, some cunt taking his lid off could have killed the lad.

I honestly hope it was a stolen bike with a thieving bastard on board that went down & won't be getting back up...

Posted: 21/08/2012 at 23:48

The lowest form of scum in my book, kill the bastard.

Posted: 22/08/2012 at 08:28

on the subject of removing the lid:

i have been outdoor emergency first aid trained and emergency first aid at work trained and when the topic of helmets came up the desicion to remove it is a judgement call.

If the helmet is retricting airflow to the person then it is better to take the helmet off and risk paralyzing them but saving their life, than leave it on and let them suffocate.

(there is a safe procedure for removing lids that reduces chance of damage to the persons spine and i reccomend that people go and get first aid trained - £90ish and you can help save someones life)
