A POLICE motorcyclist on a training ride suffered serious injuries after crashing into a motorway barrier.

Allegedly, he was riding along a slip road from the M61 to the East Lancs Road when he careered into the central reservation barrier.

He suffered multiple injuries and was taken to Hospital, where his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Anyone who witnessed the accident, about 11.30am yesterday, is asked to contact traffic police on 0161 856 4777 or 872 5050.

It is the second time in a year that a Greater Manchester Police officer has been involved in a serious incident on a motorcycle training exercise.

Have you heard about the 'wobble' problems with the PANS. Motorway would be the place for it to happen too. Apparently all the gear plod weighs the bike down with upset the center of gravity, and the bike goes into a fishtail. Sounds bang on from the look of things. the US already scrapped their PANS and have gone back to Hardly Dangerous's AFAIK
