Onlookers horrified as man is bludgeoned to death, as gang members brawl at Sydney Airport
AUTHORITIES IN Australia are considering new anti-biker gang legislation after a bike gang member was bludgeoned to death at Sydney airport yesterday.
A 29-year-old man died in hospital from head injuries after violence erupted between to rival biker gangs, as one group disembarked from a flight.
Police did not name any gangs involved, but Australian media reported that the brawl was between the Hells Angels and Comancheros.
New South Wales premier Nathan Rees announced he was now to consider tough new anti-biker legislation. "I was sickened by this brazen attack. Violence of this nature, particularly in front of families and children is nothing short of disgusting," the Sydney Morning Herald reported him as saying.
A witness, who watched the horrfic events unfold, said: "As they surged past the check-in counters at least five of them grabbed the steel bollards and began to swing. One fellow dropped to the ground and some of the others just laid into him, hitting him with the bollard and kicking him too."
Sydney Police have already charged four men in connection with the incident.
