'Angry' French bikers at it again

Time for the British Federation of Angry Bikers?

A GROUP of cheesed-off French bikers have taken to painting their own road markings warning motorists about upcoming speed cameras. 

The Federation Francaise des Motards en Colere (FFMC), literally the French Federation of Angry Bikers, angered by a particular speed camera, decided to take direct action.

A group of thirty bikers took to the streets of Toulon, brazenly taking matters into their own hands with a pot of paint. 

And these aren't just crude daubings either - these Gallic agitators have made their new markings look like a pro job. 

Luckily, local law enforcement was nowhere to be seen. Or perhaps they were joining in?

My guess is the local plod wouldn't interfere!
I have never had anything other than help from the Spanish Guardia Civil when I'm on the bike, my feeling is that the French police are equally as understanding.
They are perhaps more interested in prevention?

I hope that your white paint aint slippery in the wet chaps!
Police will be blitzing all my favourite twisties for the next 3 months. Last summer 3 motorcycling officers came flying towards me, knees down crankin! Must have been "mapping" where we all go fast, hmmm, wish I had MY speed camera that day.

Fantastic idea. Can they make a stencil available? What's the best paint to use? What are the surface preparation requirements?

After all, the idea behind such devices is "safety," right? So warning people will make more people comply with the law, right? So things will be safer, right? Then why would the authorities object?

Oh -- these are really revenue-raising devices, and have nothing to do with safety? I see. Never mind.

..I got 'snapped' 6 times while on holiday (in 2009)& still no letter!They have their cameras hidden (usually) so you've no chance unless your a local...

I suppose its less destructive then throwing petrol filled tyres over speed cameras and setting them alight.

Anyone remember Captain Gatso? perhaps he could turn his hand to painting....
