Criville has already tested various MotoGP bikes

IT WAS only part of a speech made during a breakfast organised by sports company Europe Press, but former 500cc GP Champion Alex Criville is reported to have said he’d quite fancy testing a MotoGP bike with a view to maybe returning to the premier class.

GP boss Carmelo Ezpeleta was also at the breakfast.

If Alex gets to ride a MotoGP bike it won't be the first time he's slung his leg over a 200bhp four-stroke missile - the Spaniard got to test a few of the major team's machines at a post-season test session in Valencia last year.

Criville won the two-stroke crown in 1999 for Repsol Honda before struggling to regain his top-flight form after a serious hand injury.
