NOW THAT Brunstrom's on his way out, it sounds as if the Association of Chief Police Officers is realising that those of us on two-wheels aren't crims by nature.
The ACPO has said that, despite comments about drug-taking, drunken scooter youths made by the Institute of Advanced Motoring this morning and the IAM's call for the police to clamp down on the untrained riders, it won't be deploying officers to take on the two-wheeled funsters.
A spokesman for ACPO said: "We won't be sending officers out to track down these riders. We want them to get the right training of course, but we really don't think this is that big a problem."
Thank you ACPO, at last some sense from the top-level of the boys in blue.
