He's a very nice man...

THE AA is to start using motorcycle again to tackle traffic congestion in Birmingham.

From today (Thursday) AA motorbike patrols will be helping stranded motorists for the first time in more than 10 years.

The new scheme by the UK’s biggest breakdown organisation will see a team of 12 motorbike patrols cutting through traffic to reach breakdowns up to 25 per cent quicker than using a van.

The move follows a survey which shows that at any time during the morning peak up to 15 per cent of drivers on key routes in Birmingham are stuck in queues.

AA motorbikes were phased out in Birmingham in the mid 1990s when vans were introduced.
