£250,000 one-off Ferrari motorcycle on eBay

Buy this or have a Ducati Desmosedici and £200,000 left in spare change

WITH A STARTING price of £249,991 we can't help thinking this seller's pushing his luck with this one-off Ferrari-endorsed motorcycle, built by respected MV Agusta guru Davis Kay.

In their description on eBay, the seller claims the engine is a one-off 900cc, transverse, double overhead camshaft, four cylinder, eight valve unit with magnesium and alloy casings, driven through a five speed gearbox.

The tubular chassis is made of Reynolds 531 tube and the entire bodywork out of aluminium.

The front end features Forcelle Italia upside down forks, twin piston Brembo disc brakes front and rear (6 pot calipers to the front, 4 to the rear) and special 17 inch hand spun Astralite wheels. WPS twin rear shock absorbers complete the basic specification.

But despite the MotoGP price tag (you could buy six Ducati Desmosedicis for the starting price) the Ferrari has a pretty disappointing spec sheet: 105bhp at 8,800rpm and a dry weight of 172kg isn't going to set anyone's tackle alight.

agreed, it comes up every month or so and it is not news. If it sold then that would be newsbut no one is stupid enough to buy it especially at that price anyway

I have seen this before but never at that price - so it's news to me and quite a few other, I should think.

He's hoping, I reckon!

I think they made a typo and  added an extra zero to the price.Correct that and he might have a slim chance of finding a buyer.

It's a moded 900cc Kawa, with an old GS(X)-like top fairing with official recognition by Ferrari (license fee...). Been on sale for months now, good look to find a snob. You could buy an NR750, an RC30 and a Desmo on that money...
