2012 Yamaha R1 drops by £1300

Yamaha cut the prices of five models for 2012 including over £1300 off the new R1

YAMAHA has cut the price on five of their models for 2012, including the flagship YZF-R1 superbike.

The new-for-2012 R1, that features traction control, has a saving of £1340. Dropping to £11,999 from £13,399 on the previous model.

Alongside the YZF-R1, the other Yamahas to receive price cuts are; the YZF-R6 now £8,999 from £9,399, the Super Ténéré down to £11,999 from £12,999, the Fazer8 ABS now £7,999 from £8,999 and the FZ8 now £6,999 from £7,999.

Yamaha has made the price revisions in recognition of the 'competitive nature of the market place'.

XT1200Z Super Ténéré: £11,999 (£12,999)
YZF-R1 50WGP: £12,999
YZF-R1: £11,999 (£13,399)
Fazer8 ABS: £7,999 (£8,999)
FZ8 50WGP: £7,499
FZ8: £6,999 (£7,999)
YZF-R6 50WGP: £9,499
YZF-R6: £8,999 (£9,399)

Only doing this because they probably lost a share of the Market when they stuck over 2k on to the price in 08.
The R6 is still 2k more than I paid new for mine in 07.
That price hike was good for the resale value of mine when It was time to sell it, but the opposite is now true for a lot of people.
