FIFTEEN MOTORCYCLISTS have been arrested in Mallorca after they placed videos of
their illegal high power motorbike road races on You Tube.
The videos posted were recorded on the same stretch or road between Caimari
and Selva on the island, where two youngsters aged 16 and 17 from the bike
gang died on April 4th.
The group which call themselves ‘Pikas de motos’ have become notorious
around the island for their races.
The 15 detained on Monday afternoon are aged between 19 and 31. A total of
15 bikes were also impounded.
The 15 were released after being charged with crimes against traffic safety.
If found guilty of dangerous driving, they could face prison sentences of
two year but that could rise to five years if their riding is deemed by a court
to have been ‘suicidal’.
