Like any self-respecting Anglo Saxon, I take my tea seriously and often in great volumes.
I say Anglo Saxon but being the mixed race society that we are, much of our language - particularly Northern dialect and slang- stems from the mother tongue of those hairy Viking invaders - Norse, Swedish and Danish, f'rinstance.
So with that in mind, I can safely say that this Guy Martin tea container is in fact a mug, not a cup as he states so firmly (yet incorrectly) in print on the face of the mug.
As this particular beverage container holds a whole pint of tea it is therefore a 'mugfull'. Mug derives from the Swedish Mugg which is their word for a drinking vessel with a handle, usually cylindrical and made of earthenware. A cup is actually a cookery measurement equating to approximately eight fluid ounces or half a pint. So there you have it. It's a mug. It's official.
The Guy Martin tea mug costs £10 and can be bought from madboymedia.co.uk. Postage and packaging costs a slightly salty £3.95.
Gotta go, me brew's getting cold...
