Strengths: Great engine, comfy as an old armchair, and looks the dogs thingeys. Just completed around 1000 miles touring Brittany and Loire Valley with missus on pillion; bike didn't miss a beat and we could have ridden for hours longer each day. A real icon and attracts attention whether riding past or parked on the side of the road. The Harley 'add-ons' are never ending and spending on the fat boy, whilst expensive, is mitigated by excellent depreciation and resale values.
Weaknesses: The stock pipes are awful. I thought I'd jumped on a Vespa when I picked it up from the showroom. Some Vance & Hines pipes improved the sound and performance, but at a price. The handling is not brilliant but you get what you would expect from a Harley; if you want sports bike performance buy another Harley, an MV Augsta for example
Overall: Great fun, easy cruising and touring, and fantastic looks
'GREAT FUN, GOOD HANDLING, ANDPLENTY OF LOW-DOWN TORQUE'
Strengths: Good handling Creates 'interest' wherever you go Excellent brakes Good grunty / torquey engine Not 'one of the crowd'
Weaknesses: Stock 'can' too quiet Questionable build quality
Overall: Owned the bike for three months now, from new Overall very impressed - good fun, sporty, good looker and a great foil for my other bike - a Harley FLSTF
