Err.... James; there's no such bike as a KH750 :-)
I also somewhat disagree with your suggestion not to purchase a classic just because it's what you lusted after all those years ago.
That's my prime reason for buying a classic!
When I sat at the traffic lights on my 250 looking at the big boys on their Z1s, 900SS Bevels, H2s and such, I couldn't afford them or the insurance.
Now I'm, a lot, older and a, teensy bit, richer they're affordable, I can and do own a few of the bikes of my dreams.
Riding them isn't a disappointment; any classic is going to be cr*p compared to a modern bike but stick some modern rubber on a 70's or 80's bike and they're great for hurtling round the country lanes. Even an H1 or H2 handles fine with 21st century tyres on it.
I ride modern (ZX10R & RSVR) on trackdays but find modern superbikes boring on the road as you can't get within shouting distance of their capabilities.
A 70's or 80's superbike on the other hand, takes some riding (skinny tyres, one disk brake, dubious suspension, lots of mass) and means I actually have fun getting the best out of them and chasing more modern tackle round the twisties.
So if you're hankering after reliving your youth then just go for it! James point about values is true so even if you don't like it after a while you won't have lost owt.
