I'm contemplating putting a GSXR1100N (1127cc) motor into my 1988 1100J (1052cc). Anyone done a similar swap or know whether it's possible?

Thanks all.

Yes, I believe it does, but
best to confirm by reading the articles on the www.oldskoolsuzuki.info/ website, or posting on their forums.

I have a vague notion that the 1127 engine is 'taller' than the 1052 - I think it fits ok but then you can't do valve clearances while the engine is in the frame.

Then again, perhaps I am mixing things up! Best to check.........

Thanks for that. There's a wealth of stuff on there. Thanks again!

If you find yourself with a spare 1127 engine I could suffer it to stick into my 750 slingshot

I've a 1052cc motor with Yoshimura camshafts and a proven rear wheel 126bhp for sale, if it's of interest.

The 1127 has a deeper sump than the 1052, but most aftermarket pipes will fit both types, the engine will physically fit straight in, although you'll need to use the 1052 pick ups for the ignition.

Unless the 1052 is totally shagged. I wouldn't bother myself.

As the engine in my 750 is running fine I would rather hold out for the later 1127 or Bandit 12 mill, thanks anyway.
