Hi all,
I bought a gsx 750 fy whuch is great but it came with this alarm, the keyfob for which was attached seperately to the pannier keys. Anyway, I accidently left the pannier keys, with alarm keyfobs attached, hanging from back pannier and pulled off for a ride. To cut a long story short the keyfobs were smashed to smitherines under the onslaught of Saturday afternoon traffic. Unfirtunately I didn't realise this until I stopped off for some food and of course the alarm does that wonderful thing of setting itself as soon as you turn the ignition off.
So my bike is stuck about 20 miles away although I managed to remove the alarm and re-attach the three coloured wires (the rest of the wires coming out of alarm were black). BUT, there is a black wire coming from the back of the bike that had obviously been cut and insulated by the installer. He or she put a yellow and a green band of wire insulator near the end of it, I believe, as a marker for the person who was removing the alarm. But I can't figure out where this goes and the bike will not start. There is a yellow/green wire coming from the side (left) of the engine (or starter?) that comes up and connects to another green/yellow wire that disappears through to the right side of the bike. I tried disconnecting them and trying each with the marked black wire coming from the back of the bike but no joy.
Any ideas? I would rather sort it myself as the bike shops round here are right rip-off merchants and I'm sure someone out there knows how this xcan be sorted. Sooner I get it sorted the sooner I can have my bike home. Thanks in advance...
