Evening all.
As previously stated, I'm overhauling the brakes of my XBR500. Now, providing I get that damn snapped bolt out (more a question of time than willing), the next step (once all the necessary bits are accumulated) will be to actually strip the caliper to bits and start rebuilding it. It's all pretty manky in there; 15 years of accumulated crap in the uppermost reaches of the caliper body to remove, and more importantly, the same level of crud on the exposed parts of the piston, so they'll need attention. But, since I'm overhauling the (non-leaky, previously-functioning-if-a-bit-poor) brakes, would it be better off just fitting new pistons (2 of, at £8 each from David Silver Spares)? Would there be anything else - seals aside - that I'd be better off replacing whilst I'm in there?
Thanks
