Bandit 1200 front sprocket

Sorry to keep banging on about this but...

Am I OK to run a Heavy Duty DID chain on a Suzuki OEM front sprocket? The reason I ask is that the OEM sprocket has a rubber ring about its center which protudes from the surface of the sprocket, and so the chain effectively sits on this ring. This in turn means that the chain does not sit fully on the sprocket . Very strange.

Hmm. Think I'd be inclined to fit a new front sprocket to go with the chain..

The sprocket won't cost much but you might have some fun getting the old one off.

The suzuki front sprocket IS a new one. I also have a 3rd party one which does not have the damping.
