anyone got '95 transit wiring diagram?

1995 'M' plate SWB Transit 100

trying to get the towbar electrics to work - looks like the previous owner (or whoever fitted the towbar) made a hash on the electrics.

just need the wire colours for

LH indicator
RH indicator
LH tail lamp
RH tail lamp
fog lamp
stop lamp
earth (guessing black)

not sure why they use separate lh/rh tail lamps... i guess its so if one goes, you dont lose both of them on the trailer/caravan.

Ta

Silly question - can't you just pop a panel off to get to the back of the light units and see the colours there? (I've done a quick Google and can't find a diagram)

hmmm... not a bad idea...

nope. the wires go to a connector at the top of the light bracket, then goes into like a pcb feeding the bulbs made even harder by the fact that i seem to have misplaced my multimeter...

Acording to the Haynes manual there are towbar wiring spurs already in place, colours thus:LH indicator BlueRH indicator Blue/redLH tail light Orange/whiteRH tail light Orange/blueFog light Not listedStop light LH Violet RH not listedReversing light Violet/orange

don't suppose the haynes manual suggests where to find these spurs, does it?ta for the list of colours when this rain stops, i'll go and sort the wiring

P.S. I have had a look in the back of the van and can't see them. Maybe they are not on all vans. Mine is ex-BT.

ok, ta most of the old wiring from the towbar was in fact, connected correctly, to the lhs light set, but nothing to the rhs, but the connectors on the socket were shite. cleaned them up but got loads of 'interference' when running multiple lights on the caravan (ie. tail lights and hazard lights, all lights went wild) and quite feint. So i replaced the tow electrics completely and threw in an audible relay - lets me know that i connected the caravn - seems to have sorted out all the lighting nicely i just look like a right fekkin pikey household now!

Your fault symptoms are normally just a case of a dodgy earth, and electricity being lazy, just using the path of least resistance, i.e via another lighting circuit. Btw, hope you've got the obligatory pikey dog to sit in the front of the van. Darren, pikier than you, see you at Snet next week.

can ya get any pikier than a greyhound?? dya like dags??

You can always come and look at my Transit to compare if you like, you can sort my bike while your at it to.

Or more children than the number of seats, my record so far is 5 plus the driver

OK, you win. Mind you, do you have a dent in every panel? It's amazing how everyone seems to give way to me down the lanes. Perhaps we ought to start a new thread in the Gallery section.....'This Pikey Transit is Perfect'

bwahahahahaha!! you got me on the dents though, ya pikey fecker!
