Another headlight problem

Strange problem this. I can't get my headlights to turn on, neither main or dipped.

Few snippets of info/what I've tried.

1) I can flash the headlights using the 'pass' button on the left hand switch gear.

2) The small central running light still works on the right hand side switchgear, when the switch is moved into the centre position that is.

3) Tried opening both switgear covers up and sprayed some water dispersing oil in there. No change.

4) Traced the right hand switchgear wiring loom to the connecter block on the left hand side of the bike. Unclipped that and sprayed that with oil. No change, though for a second nothing worked on the right hand side switch gear. Kill switch, running lights etc. Unplugged it, replugged it then it worked again.

5) Tried a knackered old headlight and the symptoms are the same.

I'm a bit stumped with this, any ideas on this?

Cheers

Scott

I would suspect the switch, or the earth for the switch.

A squirt of WD40 is ok, but can't fix a loose/dirty contact.

Have you tried replacing the fuses?

'course if the fuses have blown then you'll also need to find out why - but it could've just been water getting into the switch gear and shorting to earth.. More likely to be wiring chaffed thru' tho'.
