What the fuck's happening to this site?

Something verrry strange has been happening over the last few months.
First off typing www.supermotard.co.uk into the compooter doesn't work as the domain name's obviouslybeen flogged.
Nextly, check out all the snidey messages cropping up in sig pix (Taipan fr'instance) and the number of pages devoted to old threads seems to get cut to just one, depending on what day of the week it is.
Now, normally I'd just wallop Admin upside the head and beat the truth from him, but seeing as he's off sick somewhere I can't.
What's going on? Are we General's bitches or are we stand alone heroes who don't need their sneaky bandwidth-stealing ways?
We could just vanish to superbmotard I s'pose.
On the other hand maybe no-one else has noticed or cares - in which case I'll shut my pie-hole.

ps If you're offended by the word 'fuck' in the message line I promise I won't use the word 'fuck' ever again. And that's a fucking promise.
Do you know what 'nemesis' means?

www.supermotard.co.uk' belongs to 'Human' I believe - up to him really if the domain name points to us or not

the 'snidey messages' are put there by the mods cos of bandwidth issues - there was a thread a few days ago and it's been a sticky in the test area for ages - it's not just aimed at 'us', everyone's the same (even general)......plenty of free hosting around the place so no real reason to nick VD's bandwidth........the size thing is apparently just that - too many sigs were too big, and poor buggers on dial-up were having to spend all day waiting for sig pics to download just to view a thread

........and no, I wasn't fucking offended by your initial, or indeed subsequent, use of the word 'fuck'

To be honest. I'm not a big fan of swearing in thread titles. What if a potential sponsor comes to Visordown for a peek to see if its worth investing in, and the first thing they see, is profanities. I'm sure whoever they are, they wouldn't want their product associated with that.

It can also cause problems for people using VD from work. What if their boss was to walk past and glance over your shoulder, and see nothing but fuck cunt wank shit prick etc etc on the opening page? Not the best idea methings. Although, people should be working at work, and not pissing about on forums, but this place has a lot of people on days who are at work and use it and it would be a shame if they had to do some work after being banned from surfing.

Steve, I have to agree with you, when this forum first started, none of us tolerated the level of swearing that is on it know.

I mean I am not pure and swear like a trooper off forum, but real feel that the level of the swearing taking place on the forum is now is beyond a joke.

One of the reasons I don't visit here much now, if people have got to swear to the levels that now occurr on here then there is something wrong.

php forums can use a profanity checker whereby you can input any swear word that you like into your post and the profanity checker would change it (as long as the swear word is in the users dictionary). I use this facility on mine but only for the more 'extreme' swear words. This forum s/ware may have a similar facility. . . .

Not saying I'm a forum veteran, but in seems to me there's a lot more gumph a la general being posted in here lately.

The main difference between General and here is that we ain't the kind of self-important dufii (the plural form of the word 'dufus'), nannying "I've got x thousand posts to my name so I must be REALLY important", sanctimonious keyboard heroes that proliferate 'over there'.

Doesn't mean though that we have to enjoy the swearing all the time, surely people can be a little more imaginative.

Ask people like Zanx, Wr, Jim, Taipan etc, we have been around here more than a coupe, of years and it ain't the same place now.
