Tech-6 blues...

Righto, man phone's up yesterday and says your Tech-6's are here. Go fetch wear them around the house until I go to bed. Thought they were ok on the bike yesterday no probs really changing gear or finding neutral really. They look the bollocks and I think they'll be great when they're finally broken in.

But could I wheelie for toffee this morning? Not. Can't find my usual "wheelie position". All over the place. Monkey help us, this is going to be a loooong and painful readjustment.

Any suggestions (outrageous or not) about speeding up the breaking process?

Lets see, foot binding anyone?

Wear them at work all week, did that with mine and they were positively slipper like in a few days.

I had the same problems Vince, and after flipping the bike, went back to my GP Pro's.

I would, but that kind of behaviour would be frowned upon in an operating theatre. I wear theatre clogs with hand-drawn geckos on them. :smoke:

Hi Vince
Mine took ages and ages and are still only juts broken in. I can actually walk up and down stairs with them on now. On level floor I am now actually walking quite normally and notlike I've shat meself!
Bear in mind I've had mine for ages as well. They just do not break in by riding in them. You need to actually walk around in them, about 5 miles should do it!
They are starting to feel very comfy and snug though, just like teh good motarders said they would. Still cant work out how to alter the adjusters though. Can anyone do me a copy of teh workshop manual for Tech 6s please

Lift and pull the straps up and backwards - so that the plastic "teeth" don't bite on plastic catches. When you pull them down to fasten them, they'll "bite" again.

Vince, go dirt riding in them, and get them wet, ie- find lots of puddles.

... its true. Once went to Morroco with brand new boots (ouch). Lucky for me it was the rainy season and I had a few rivers and puddles to cross. Boots were worn in by the second day, no problems. Shame the boots stayed wet for 12 days though (puddel afgter puddle). Still have some strange fungi growing on me toes

I had the same problem shifting gears - as you may recall. I'm not much of a stunta but whatever I could do on one wheel was lost. 2 weeks later and I still have a hard time shifting through the higher gears. The Vectors dont have much leather to break in... and they're twice as fat on the top side of the foot as any other boot I've ever owned...
