Sunday Rideout

Well it was a good 'un.

Monkeyboy turned up with 3banana (albeit both bloody cold) at my place on saturday night. We went for a curry so you can imagine what the atmosphere was like in the flat on Sunday morning.

Got up early and were on the road by 0730. We met up with Nige Harford and Phil and Gazuk at the carpark and then went on a blast to meet Peej and some bloke on a 996 (Hi Tim) at the cafe in Cowfold.

The ride after that was pretty good. Nige and Phil know some decent roads, both twisty and fast and at times the going got a bit quick. I think everybody at some point or another nearly ran off the road with 3banananana following goodluck"crasher"monkey into the hedge (nearly) on a couple of occasions!!

Anyhow, this will happen nearly every weekend so you guys can turn up whenever you like, crash at my place and then have a larf on the ride in the morning.

I only have one photo of the day which is me pulling a wheelie so I hope it attaches.

Walking in town the other day and I spotted a piece of walking excrement. I pointed it out to the wife. She could not see it. I pointed again but to no avail. I took her right up to it and nearly stepped on it ... oh that she said. No dear, thats a copper.

What a damn fine time that was.

Thanks to Futts for providing the crash space

Trying to follow GLM was a nightmare, his rear tyre was so shagged that when he twitched going into a tight left hander and stood the bike up , I thought there was something round the corner to be wary of so I hauled on the anchors and slid it into grass along side him, only to find he had just bottled it. Doh!

Brave monkey riding on that tyre!!

And I have a huge stone chip out of my helmet and lumps of road stuck down my sump guard from following Peej, Nige and Phil down the lanes. Nige ended up with a smashed headlight too

Total mileage for me was 345 miles!, and I am still cold today.

And I lurv these Avon wets

Great ride.

Thanks to Futter for arranging it and whoever it was leading it (couldn't see that far ahead ).

Will definately be up for this on a more regular basis.

Glad everyone seemed to enjoy the route. It is sometimes difficult to find roads that people will find entertaining whilst not being too fast or getting in to difficulty. Everyone seemed to be there or thereabouts each time we arrived at a junction ,so hopefully they didn't find it too demanding !
Good fun was had and no-one got hurt........can't say fairer than that !

Big and clever.

Veggie, the rocker box on LC4s are sealed with silicone. I had a small leak on my bike and both Swampy and KTM tech bloke recommended ThreeBond sealant for the job and they both also said defiantly not to use Hylomar instant gasket and the like.
The joining face of the rocker box also closes down on the cam bearings so if the sealant is too thick you run the risk of shagging the cam and the bearings. The only place I managed to find ThreeBond sealant on the Harris Performance web site. I ended up buying the 1211 sealant, it only took 3 days to arrive. It was one fiddly fekking job. If you need any tips drop us a PM.

Regards

pogie

P.S. sorry for hijacking yer thread futts.

Hmm, Harris are just around the corner from me. As I used B&Q bath sealent last time (worked a treat, too) I think I should probably use something that's actually designed for the job this time...

This summer's gonna be crap - every where I go I'll have a camera with me, which means lots of work and no playing...

Nor me ! Seriously, we do tend to have a good time on Sunday mornings, although most of the time it's just me ,Phil, Futter and Peej. It's always heartening to meet others who are similarly stupid ! By way of return, maybe we could travel up for a session at the runway..... sounds like you guys have good fun there. How long is it ? Always enjoy the opportunity to put a long one together and it's bin a while......

I'll probably take you up on that. I've already had Tim doing some - and a bloody good job he did, too - but it's the extra hassle of taking the bike in a trailer every where I go that's the big ball ache. I'll just have to get more access to the airfield, which, thanks to Billy, I may very well have

Twelve quid, bloody hell!

Still, at least Harris are just around the corner. Oh well, no excuse for not doing the job now ... except it's absolutely bleeding freezing...

Tut.. Veggie

Get that Bike wheeled into the living room through the patio doors where it's nice and warm

top tip:
use your missus' best turkey tray for drips and a nice clean tea towel to wipe yer baby down afterwards.

Oh and do a "wot's my bike sound like if I fire it up indoors" test.

the results should be as follows

10 seconds before verbal and physical maiming = your bike is too loud.
20 seconds before the baby starts crying = your about right

1 minute+ = you haven't got a woman , have you?

Can't do that any more as the entrance to the cottage is tiny. Obviously, I used to do it but that was in a the bad old days when I couldn't leave anything outside the house without some little bastard nicking it
