i bought a crd for my crf a few month ago for the same reason gave me more power and lots less noise. if you join the racespec club you get 10% of rrp cost £10 to join and save £25ish on your can.the can i bought was the enduro 90db one. its round and if you have 5 inch wheel will catch tyre but only just no problem at tall.go to a track day crf,s are amazing on the track.try racespec in your searchengine hope this helps hen

I run a DEP pipe on my CRF can't tell you the db but it is a low noise pipe and my bike seems as fast as any. I use mine every day as a road bike and love it just get it set up properly!

^^^^ if you're using the genuine Honda ones they should last for 2-4,000 miles.

If, on the other hand, you're using UFO chain sliders then yes, they last only a few hundred miles max. They're shite.

It helps to run larger sprockets because it pulls the chain off the chain slider a bit.

cheers irie it is ufo ones i,ve been killing on me fourth one in 12weeks phoned shop was advized to honda part from 2004 model said they were even harder than 02,03 models thanks again. hen

Thanks for that.
My bike is only 3 weeks old(04) so have only done about 20 miles on it as i've only just fitted the wiring loom for the lights/horn etc.The exhaust is the other reason i've done so few miles. I'm still running on trail wheels with MT21's until i can get hold of my moto wheels, Quite rare on e-bay at the moment.I quite fancy the FMF powercore 4 or the Q pipe are these any good. What is everyone doing for a speedo? I'm thinking of getting an edurance computer.
Final one PISTON LIFE has any one changed theirs yet what mileage would you reccommend this is not something i fancy doing despite being an engineer.

would it actually need replacing or would it just need new piston rings

EDIT: sorry piston RING...they only have one...the main reason they drink oil.

UNDERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. OVERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. HORSEPOWER is how fast you hit the wall. TORQUE is how far you take the wall with you.

Not to worry i used the strongest loctite i could find after i was warned about that on one of my previous posts. As for the piston it will probably last me 2 years as the bike is purely a sunny day toy. Just about to polish the frame and fit a crf 250x headlight lurverrrrllllyyyyy
