TBM carried out a back to back test on a dyno of one of those PowerNow thingies recently using a EXC 450,and it showed no discernable increase in power or torque. Maybe they should be called powernot??

I think it is dependant on the bike. I did this mod on my YZ-426 and it didn't give much HP or torque, but it made a big improvement in throttle response.

From what I've read in many of the forums I think, as JFisher says, its all improvements in throttle response down low, stuff that doesn't always show up on a dyno.

If you think about how PowerNow works and take a look at the PowerNow website, it does all seem logical.

Yamaha Moto France will being using PowerNow next year, so I guess they must feel its worthwhile!?

Also, IMO TBM are a bunch of 'cowboys' so I wouldn't believe anything they say, I'm more inclined to believe the people who have tried the mod and actually ridden with it.

Flywheel weights do not show up on a dyno either, but you can definately tell a differance.........power now works.
Dynos are fine for what they are, but never show the true picture.

A mate fitted one to his WR250F and noticed an immediate improvement in bottom end. We both now have Berg FC470s and have FCR39s from WR/YZs to fit and will be fitting these JamesNOW as well.
