KTM 950SM......info please

has anyone ridden the new KTM 950SM yet? does anyone know anyone that has one? what are they like? cos i'm serioulsy considering buying one.

or has anyone read any reviews?

Should be out around may time I believe. Purely for the road this one. I have been told that there could be a twin for race, not too far in the distance.

It is the same engine and box as the adventurer, and thats pretty good so with less weight and a different frame/wheels then it should be a good bike.

I think its called the super duke.

No, that would be the "Super Duke".

The "950SM" is a different bike.

IDGAS whether we have or not. They are STILL (marginally IYO) different bikes.

This is a 950 sm . It is very different from the superduke ( IIRC even the engine is different)

I know 40 cc is nothing in Chichester but to the west of Leigh Park size is everything

Last time I checked the delivery dates for the Super Dukes were March / April, but then that was the date for the 660 a few years ago and delivery slipped a few months on those.

The SM950 is due some time in the summer, I guess May / June if the SM950 slips by more than a few months from that date it may well be classed as an 06 bike.

What I really want is an SM950 with Fuel Injection and the bigger engine

I'm holding out for the Aprilia 550 V-twin.

So why not try a Highland?
Fuel injection, but with a smaller engine that makes more power ............. and a bike that's 20kg lighter than KTM are quoting for the 950SM

Paul, if you want to have a spin to find out what the race tuned 950SM will ride like gimme a shout and you can take the Higland for a spin.
But beware, that "urge to surge" is sooooo addictive
