Any of you lot had a go on one of these yet? Very interested in one and trying to organise a test ride. I know motards arn't really designed for distance but am interested to know what sort of mileage I could do before it all gets a bit uncomfortable.

Went to the French Alps 2 years ago on the lumpy old Duke 2. The new one is much much better. Faster, smoother and almost as good looking. The new Lc4 motor is a corker.

I have got the tough job of getting a few miles on our shop demo before Joe Public gets to play on it.

Great fun to ride, plenty of punch and very little vibration.  Not too sure about just how comfortable it is though - up till now I have only been out for an hour or so at a time and have not had any problems.  But really it is not designed for sitting on the motorway.....

Give us a go.

No, im not a motorway man, normally ride for 3/4 hours at a time in the summer, wondering what that would be like on a motard. I know the 690 is road based, but its still a motard.

not ridden a 690 but I've a ccm R30 650 and I've done 100miles on that in one go other than fuel stops  and that was ok

Rode one for the first time the other month at the ktm centre and was very suprised on how smooth it was but then coming off a husky beforehand.

Looks awesome in black and white, just a couple of  ciritisims which applies to the SMC also is the lack of punch and exhaust note probably due to the EU emmision regs and the servicing costs which I thought was little steep as I was gonna chop the Husky in for one to use as my commuter.

Should make a good play thing at the weekend if you've got £6700 with the much needed Akra silencer

Its a naked single.  4 hours no problem.

4 hours no problem on any single.

If you want SM, dont get one of them.

They are good though.
