OK..just spent LOADS of time reading about this bike, and even I have to admit it is a thing of beauty ! all that carbon, all that Ti those Zorsts......*drooollll*
Howerver..here is the rub, £13000, yep thats £13 grand for a bike, the self supporting carbon seat unit is £1500 in it own right ! the rad shrouds £1100, Corrr.......can you imagine dropping that !.....they'd hear the screams in Newcastle !
Now whilst all these weight saving mods do shave over 15kgs off the 660 SC weight.....it still isnt the lightest, OK it has a shed full of horses at 70 RWHP.....with a bit of fettling anyway, but £13000..........
The New Vert 600 has 64 RWHP.......in 104kgs, again like the FR a Pure race machine......hell they both have ridiculous tanks....5L on the KTM fer gawds sake...not enought to get you to the end of the road is it ! but thats not what its for I s'pose
My question is this.........
which in YOUR opinion is more value for money.......

I know what I think, but it should be intersting to see what you lot think as well !

If money was no object I'd go for the 660 purely because it's a work of art, and my team mate rides one ! however unfortunately it is so I'll stick with the Supercomp ............... That is until it throws it's gut's out again then I may be tempted by that Vert

I cottoned on to this months ago, when comparing the spec of the normal pleb 660 to the factor rep 660.

I did an xl spreadsheet to compare them, it's on my pc at work, when you look at the specs side by side its hard to believe the rep is more than double the price of the common lesser spotted SMC 660.

Will upload it on the morrow.

I know the rep is gorgeous but worth 2+ 660's

OK, the 660 might be a work of art, but when the inevitable happens and it goes sliding down the road, how much is all that carbon gonna cost to replace?

What would be just another scuff on any other bike would be a whole new panel, and that'd put me off right away.

I wouldn't pay £1300 for KTM of any description! or for that matter a Yammy/Suzuki/Kwacker/etc etc etc.....
Sure you could get a hand made one off special made for that sort of money!(spose that is what it is though!) and it would probably still live longer.

I'd wait for some dynocharts before accepting those 64bhp. New machines power output tend to be hyped thouroghly.

(wouldnt mind to see dynos of a FR either btw)
